Jumping the what?!
There’s a new phrase sweeping the nation… jumping the couch. Apparently it is used to describe those rare moments of insanity that some folks seem to display… as in…
“Tom Cruise jumped the couch when he started pimping scientology.”
Or …
“Jimmy jumped the couch when he started putting tinfoil on his head to protect his thoughts from aliens.”
Or …
“Leigh jumped the couch when she caught her boyfriend cheating on her with the drive-thru girl at McDonald’s.”
Of course, this all stems from Tom Cruise’s inability to contain his own delirium.
Kudos to Tom for making a completely useless phrase into such a smashing success.

Actually, my second post is about the phrase jumping the couch which just happened to originate with Tom Cruise’s inability to control himself on the Oprah Winfrie show, sparking a new phrase to use for those who act, or are, crazy.
